About The Race:
The 30 hour supported Adventure Rage comes back for its seventh year as one of the longest running races in the country. The Rage is the toughest event of the Infiterra Sports Adventure Race Series and the toughest event in Michigan in 2008. We are excited about returning to Caberfae Peaks Resort and the great terrain in the area. The 2008 running of the Rage will again have a big race feel with lots of navigation and route choices. Teams will be required t o plot UTM coordinates, so a good understanding of UTM plotting is required. Maps will be scaled at 1:25,000 provided by MyTopo.com.
Prizes: Gear prizes in all divisions with significant prizing for the 4 person coed category. Plus great Prizes with the Rage being part of the Checkpoint Tracker AR Series. Note that sponsor prizing is primarily awarded in the 4 person coed category.

This huge banquet will be held in the beautiful hall at Caberfae Peaks Resort. It will be a great post race gathering with participants from both the Adventure Rage and the Rage Sprint. The food will be top notch catered by the resort. You will definitely want to stick around for this post race affair!

Course Details Include:
Paddle: All boats are provided for this race. Teams will be paddling 25-35 miles depending on their routes. Teams should expect some beautiful river paddling as one of the highlights of the course. Canoes are provided for teams, 1 canoe for 2 person teams and 2 canoes for 4 person teams. Kayaks will be provided for solos. Standard livery paddles and PFDs are available. You may opt to bring your own PFDs and paddles, either standard or kayak paddles.
Trekking / Orienteering: You should expect anything from dense brush to open forest to low wetlands. Trekking will be on roads, trails, and significant sections of off trail bush whacking. Navigation will be key. Mileage will be in the range of 15-25 miles. And you can expect at least one segment of more detailed orienteering in which teams will be in search of unmanned orienteering flags with a punch.
Mountain Bike: Biking mileage will be in the 30-40 mile range. Biking will be on all road types including some single track riding. Be prepared for some great rides although some northern Michigan sand is inevitable, but we'll do our best to keep the sand down. You should have good working bike lights and a good backup headlamp if your bike light batteries should fail.
Fixed Ropes: No ropes sections this year.
